The mission of Newark Emergency Services for Families, Inc. (NESF) is to stabilize and empower individuals and families in crisis by providing financial assistance, case management, support services, and community resources. With a focus on housing and food insecurities, as well as workforce development, NESF serves as an anchor social service institution that helps residents survive today so that they may thrive tomorrow.

Connections at Home’s (CAH) mission is to reduce social isolation and loneliness for homebound older adults, using technology and social work services to address the non-medical needs of socially isolated seniors. CAH’s vision is to improve the social, emotional, and physical quality of life for elders who are aging in place.

Grant Recipient: Prevent Child Abuse - New Jersey

Prevent Child Abuse - NJ (PCA-NJ) was founded in 1979 with a mission to prevent abuse and neglect in all forms for all of NJ’s children. PCA-NJ supports 11 prevention programs serving more than 38,000 families a year in NJ and their model has been adopted as statewide practice.

MEND is a hunger relief organization that supports a growing network of 20 food pantries located throughout Essex County (Newark, East Orange, Bloomfield, Irvington, Maplewood, Montclair, Orange, South Orange, and West Orange.) MEND pantries fed 134,000 people in 2018.
